Kindergarten
Kindergarten at CFC will consist of daily learning rhythms. Those rhythms include literacy, mathematics, handwork (fine motor), arts & crafts, language arts, Bible, and gross motor play. Each rhythm is designed to address daily learning in a kinesthetic manner that engages our students through experience. When children learn through experience, it helps to develop independent thinking and problem-solving skills. Having these skills, will build confidence in our students. Confident children have the freedom to be curious learners and curious learners never stop learning!
Meet The Teachers:
Preschool Director and Lead Teacher- Jenni Huston
I’m Jenni Huston the director at The Preschool at Christian Faith Center. My husband and I have been married for twenty-one years. We enjoy serving as the coffee bar managers here at CFC. I am the mother of five adult children, two daughter-in-law’s, an eleven year old granddaughter, and one grandchild on the way. My husband and I were foster parents for five and a half years and have had many children come through our home. I’m a proud law enforcement officer’s wife and enjoy anything to do with the outdoors!
Professionally, I have my Early Childhood Education degree from Lively Technical College, Nampa School District certification, certification from The National Institute for Learning Disabilities, certification from School of Innovation/Project Child, Certificate of mentorship from Lee Pesky, my AFFA certification, along with a Zumba and Refit fitness license! Over the last twenty years, I have taught preschool, prekindergarten, kindergarten, first and second grade reading, a parenting class at an alternative high school, and physical education. I owned my own childcare center while my children were young and enjoy all forms of early childhood education. Teaching is my passion! I believe God created me and my heart for the classroom for such a time as this!
Lead Teacher - Stefanie Crowley
Hi! My name is Stefanie Crowley. I am married and have two beautiful grown girls, Madelyn, and Olivia. Maddie now lives in Scottsdale, AZ and Livvie lives in Boise. Since I am an “empty nester” it’s wonderful to be returning to teaching so I can enjoy the presence of young children again. I have taken a three-year hiatus from education to spend time with my elderly parents. My father passed away almost two years ago, and I currently help my mom so she can continue to live in her own home.
I graduated from the University of Montana in Missoula with an Elementary degree as well as a B.A. in Psychology. My teaching career began in Kalispell, Montana before my children were born. I taught second grade for two years and one year of kindergarten before Madelyn was born. I was then able to stay home with my children until Olivia entered kindergarten. I returned to teaching in 2005 and taught kindergarten at Idaho Arts Charter School for many years. During these years, I learned how to integrate the arts into my teaching. I also dipped my toes into Montessori Education to bring more hands-on learning experiences into the classroom.
As we all know, the one constant in life is change. I’ve seen many changes in education over the years. I believe one of the most unfortunate changes has been allowing less time for play. As a strong believer in learning through play, I enrolled in a Waldorf Teacher Program during the summer of 2017. Idaho Arts graciously allowed me to practice what I was learning in the program with my 2017-2018 kindergarten class. My class loved circle time and story time. The following fall, I put my Waldorf education into full practice at Peace Valley Charter School in Boise while completing my Waldorf certification in June of 2019.
I look forward to bringing a variety of teaching methods to the classroom. We will learn through play, hands-on learning, and many engaging activities to create a loving, fun, and safe learning environment for your child.
