Pre-Kindergarten AM
Monday/Wednesday/Friday Pre-Kindergarten Class-
This class is for children who are 4 by September 1st, and fully potty trained. Like the 4’s class, this class will be a kindergarten preparatory class. The extra day enables the children to go deeper into learning. Students in this class will learn literacy skills, math concepts, problem solving and independent thinking skills, hands on learning stations, with fine and gross motor skills. This class is designed to prepare your child for an easy transition into kindergarten.
Meet The Teachers:
Assistant Director and Lead Teacher- Marla Hill
My name is Marla Hill, and I am the Assistant Director of the Preschool at Christian Faith Center. I have been married to my husband, Ron, for thirteen years. We are like the Brady Bunch. He had three children, I had three children, and then we had one together. Our children range in age from eight to thirty-three years old. We have two son-in-law’s, and four grandchildren. We enjoy serving as the Children’s Pastors at the Christian Faith Center Caldwell campus.
I have my Associates Degree in Elementary Education from University of Phoenix, Nampa School District certification, certification from The National Institute for Learning Disabilities (NILD), certification from School of Innovation/Project Child, and a Certificate of Mentorship from Lee Pesky. I was an assistant teacher at OWL Charter Academy working with kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade with an emphasis in math. I had my own in-home daycare for four years as a single mom. My three children and I welcomed a sweet little boy from the Philippines into our home for a month in order to help him find a permanent home (which he did). I have worked in a daycare, volunteered in the church nursery, preschool, and kid’s church. I have facilitated a Confident Kids group, a youth girl’s group, family home groups, and multiple ladies Bible study groups during the summer months. My husband and I have facilitated DivorceCare groups, as well as taught marriage and parenting classes. Additionally, I have been a camp counselor at the Southern Idaho District Kid’s Camp in years past. It is quite funny because I never intended on being a teacher, or having children for that matter, but God had other plans! I love being a teacher and a kid’s pastor! It brings me such joy to see them grow and learn! It is not only my desire to teach them academically, but I want to help lay the foundation for them to have a thriving, personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Lead Teacher- Vivian Scott
My name is Vivian and I am the AM Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher and 3’s Assistant Teacher. My husband and I have been together for 9 years. We have a daughter named Scarlett who attended The Preschool at Christian Faith Center for the 2021/2022 school year and will be attending again for kindergarten in the fall! We are a prior military family. I was a stay-at-home mom for 3 years and I homeschooled, and cared for, younger ones during that time. Prior to that, my love for helping others and teaching started at a young age in school. I was a teacher’s assistant, volunteered and taught Girls on the Run, worked with adults and kids with disabilities. I went to college and became a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Phlebotomist, and soon, I will be finishing an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement.
In my spare time, you will find me mothering, cleaning the house (never ending), cooking, gardening, tending to our farm animals, spending time with my family, and exploring the mountains. I’m a fanatic of the outdoors and strive to encourage others to go outside!
I absolutely love teaching little ones and I pray that I can be the best teacher for them to excel in school and grow in God’s faith. I am excited to meet you all!
Assistant Teacher- Maria McQueary
Hi there! I am an Assistant Teacher for the AM Pre-Kindergarten class. I spent the last year doing the same for the Preschool at Christian Faith Center and I am looking forward to the 2022/2023 school year! Prior to that, I graduated from Penza State Pedagogical University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Teaching English and German as a Second Language. I worked as an ESL teacher at Penza State Technological Academy from September 2003 till December 2008. I had a pleasure of volunteering at NRC preschool for 5 years and I became a member of the Church of Christ in 1998. I am married to Michael McQueary. Together, and with God’s help we are raising three girls Lillian (11), Sophia (8) and Katherine (5). We live in Nampa and attend the Church of Christ in Melba, ID. I enjoy working with children and watching them grow.
Assistant Teacher- Bérénice Rivera
Hello, my name is Bérénice. I am a mother of two, and I was inspired after having my second child to devote all my spare time to learning everything I can about early childhood development. I am fond of the Montessori parenting method. Two years ago, I helped my mother open an in-home Family Care Center (Little Elephant Daycare). My main hobbies are arts and crafts, DIYs, and reading. I feel happiest when playing along with children. It comes naturally to me, and I love seeing their smiling faces.
